Dr. Nofisat “Nafi” Almaroof MD is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and military veteran. She is an honors scholar and graduate of New York University, where she received her B.A. in Youth development and Performing arts at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study. Dr. Almaroof eventually honed her passion for health and subsequently completed her doctoral training at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She completed her residency training at the National Capital Consortium Family Medicine Residency Program at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. While serving in the United States Army, she was stationed in Germany and also achieved the rank of Major. She currently holds Assistant Professorship at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and was prior faculty at the National Capital Consortium Family Medicine Residency.
Dr. Almaroof is also a certified yoga instructor and holistic health coach with over a decade of experience in the health and wellness industry. She is very passionate about women’s health, nutrition, exercise science, integrative medicine, humanism in medicine, and medical ethics. Her personal interests include creative writing, fitness, reading, film, travel, new adventures, and spending time with her husband, two children, and Belgian Malinois.
