Dr. Kara McElligott Park is a board certified OB/GYN who specializes in helping people who identify as women. Kara takes an individualized and holistic approach to women’s care. She specializes in, Contraception (finding the right birth control),Sexual health (such as decreased libido and painful sexual intercourse), Postpartum concerns, Second opinions, especially when deciding whether to have surgery, Menopause, hormone health and guiding patients who are transitioning through menopause, Caring for Women Veterans, people with Disability, and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Kara received her medical degree at the University of North Carolina and completed residency at Duke University Health Center. She has 10+ years of experience working as an OB/GYN in academic health centers, the health department and at the Veterans Affairs Health System. She is also a Certified Menopause Practitioner and board certified in Obesity Medicine.

Kara is based in Durham, North Carolina where she lives with her husband, two children. She adores growing flowers, traveling and helping others.
